Investors In People
We are one of the very few social care organisations accredited by Investors in People (IIP) in recognition of our excellent people management and development practices.
What is IIP?
Active Prospects has IIP Silver, which is an achievement over and above the core IIP Standard. This is a tool to help ensure that organisations improve the way that they work. IIP recognises that organisations achieve success by improving the performance of their people.
The IIP framework consists of ten standards which are made up of a set of core criteria which Prospect must meet plus a number of additional criteria from which Active Prospects can make a choice. The criteria are broken down into three levels; Top Manager, Manager and People – this gives an indication of the understanding that should be expected by each level of staff.
IIP does not dictate how things should be done but is more concerned with outcomes. On this basis, IIP looks for good practice but also a good understanding of issues facing the organisation, how it plans to respond and how this has been communicated.
Why is it useful for Active Prospects?
Having IIP accreditation means that:
- The processes and procedures our employees work with are open to external review.
- Active Prospects is willing to listen to any suggestions for improvement.
- Active Prospects is formally recognised for its good practice.
- It demonstrates that, even at a time of financial cuts being imposed, Active Prospects is looking for ways to improve the way that it works and remains committed to developing its staff to achieve our aims.
- It sends a positive signal to the people Active Prospects support that we are proud of the work that we do and that we value our people.
