SHORT BREAKS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Our Approach

Active Prospects short break service, Young Prospects, provides a break for carers and families and also gives quality experiences to the young people we support.

We are one of the main providers of services to people with disabilities in Surrey, established for nearly 30 years.

We ensure that young people with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities or complex needs look forward to staying with us and take part in a wide range of activities, both at the service and in the community.

We offer a core service 24/7 with a range of bespoke support to suit each person from 1:1 to shared care with others. We work with you to meet your required needs and support package, following assessment and taster visits.

As well as staying at our specially designed short breaks building in Redhill, we can also offer support in your own home for specific issues, by staff with whom you are already familiar.

"This is an amazing service to work in, there is so much happening all the time, and the people we support are so full of energy and potential."

Our Reassurance

We understand it can be sometimes be difficult for young people, families and carers to use short break services and build up trust with the staff team and service. We aim to answer all your questions and listen to your individual requirements.

We are registered by the Care Quality Commission and our inspection reports can be found on the Care Quality Commission website or in the service.  We have a robust complaints policy and you can make an appointment to see the manager at any time.

We also have an internal Quality Assurance Manager that regularly visits our services to independently check that everything is in place and help identify any improvements required. We strive to continually develop our service and welcome any feedback or suggestions. We also have opportunities for families and people we support to be involved in our governance arrangements.
